Pulcová, Veronika ; Altová, Blanka (advisor) ; Pešek, Jiří (referee)
The subject of this thesis is a description of the current state and a retrospective view of the history of the preserved monastery gardens in the context of the urban development of the Lesser Town. Specifically, these are the gardens that have survived at the Grand Priory of the Knights of Malta at the Church of Our Lady under the Chain, the garden of the Oblate Augustinians at the Church of St. Thomas, the garden of the Dominicans (formerly Magdalenites) at the former Church of St. Mary Magdalene, the garden of the Barefoot Carmelites at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the Theatines (Cajetans) at the Church of Our Lady of Consolation, the Jesuit garden at the Church of St. Nicholas, the garden of the Convent of the English Maidens at the Church of St. Joseph (Vojanovy sady) and the garden of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Borromeo under Petrin. I describe the current state of the individual gardens and retrospectively trace their historical transformations in an urban context.

Fúrová, Pavlína ; Ebelová, Ivana (advisor) ; Hojda, Zdeněk (referee)
(in English): The practical part of this Bachelor's thesis is focused on making accessible of Inspection Protocol of the Theresian Cadastre from 1726 for the part of Prague called Lesser Town as a computerized database. The database should be useful for wide groups of researchers, who are interested in social, economic, demographic issues of Prague in the 18th Century or in its art-historical, especially building development. In the theoretical part is shortly outlined the development of the oldest czech cadasters, the situation in Lesser Town of Prague after Thirty Years' War and the distinctive position of lateral rights. The aim of following chapters is briefly summarize various types of data, which are recorded in the Inspection Protocol. In each chapter I made an attempt to set a trend, which can be noticed thanks to obtained data, especially for Lesser Town. More detailed analysis of data, which could some readers miss, would exceed the extent of Bachelor's thesis. My personal thoughts of this research are mentioned at the end of each chapter and also are outlined at the end of the work.
Lesser Town gradual and its patrons: Renaissance illuminated manuscript as an instrument of burghers' representation.
DOKTOROVÁ, Jana
The topic of the diploma thesis is the Malostranský gradual (hymnal, collection of religious songs for the laity), a significant Renaissance illuminated manuscript made in the second half of the 16th century for the literary confraternity at the church of St. Nicholas in the Lesser Town of Prague. In the introductory chapters, the author describes the contextual methodological approach through which she interprets the work, continues with the historical context of its creation, and provides an overview of the current research on this subject. In the main part of the thesis, she presents the individual donors, whose names are recorded on the folios of the manuscript. Based on written sources, the author discloses not only their identity, and profession, familial and friendship ties, or their economic background and social standing, but also answers the question, what is the motivation behind their donation, how did they influence the gradual's decoration, and how did they present themself in this artistic medium.

Plans and Projects for the Lesser Town Bank in the first half of the 20th Century
Huml, Václav ; Biegel, Richard (advisor) ; Macek, Petr (referee)
This thesis describes architectural and urban projects - both realized and unrealized - for the Lesser Town bank in the period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the World War Two. The primary point of our work is the description and the analysis of the projects, not theoretical interpretation. The reader is thus able to follow the differnet attituteds of the architects and find out how much they incorporated their projects into the historical character of the Lesser Town, which is one of the oldest and the most magnificent urban area in the world. In its streets, buildings and the beauty of detail are displayed talent and skills of home and foreing craftsmen and artists, who had always succeeded in identifying themselves with the historical character of this part of the city at the foot of Prague Castle. The Lesser Town has preserved its medieval character in every historical epoch. Nevertheless each of them has imprinted its marks on this part of the city and neither our period is the exception.
